This version of the Gemini II is a fixed bias 6L6 power stage driven by a cathodyne phase splitter. Gain for the cathodyne is provided by a pentode (both are the 7199). This layout is similar to many tube hi-fi amps such as Scott, except in the Ampeg, the cathodyne is AC coupled rather than direct coupled. Upstream there are two preamp channels, each composed of one 12AX7
